About BYRU

BYRU is Indonesia's first mobile satellite GSM service using the ACeS (ASIA Cellular Satellite) network and the Garuda-1 satellite. It provides you with easy access to satellite based mobile telecommunications in an area extending from Pakistan and India in the west, to the Philippines and Papua New Guinea in the east, and from Japan and China in the north, down to Indonesia in the south.

BYRU services will include digital voice, facsimile and data transmission in both satellite and GSM modes. BYRU extends the reach of national telecommunication services where currently there are none available. Whether you are in the heart of Jakarta, traveling through the jungles or sailing on the oceans, BYRU ensures you will have the security and convenience of complete telecommunications coverage.

BYRU (read be ru) is named after the word biru, meaning blue in Bahasa Indonesia, as a symbol of the sky above and its unlimited possibilities. BYRU symbolizes the free, dynamic and innovative personality of today's communications era.
